The Sanford Project

I finally got around to reading this article. It doesn't exactly sound like a real shift in US policy. The story has always been, "we'll pull out when the Iraqi forces are ready." That still seems to be the story here, just that one or two generals seem to be very optimistic about when that will be.

Will we ever eschew the idea of permanent bases in Iraq? Then it'll be Christmas (and pigs will be flying from my butt).
